Frosty Air Adds to Winter Carnival Excitement
by Connie Paris
February 8 dawned beautifully sunny but with a temperature that put the “chill” in wind chill. But Winter Fun Day, hosted by Carlingwood and Woodroffe North Community Associations, went ahead as planned. Many hardy souls joined in, proving that there’s no such thing as bad weather if you make the right clothing choices!
The Woodroffe Park outdoor rink was in great shape and the sledding, Olympic. The fire pit, hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts kept fingers, toes, and tummies warm. And the community collected donations of cash and food for the Britannia Food Pantry.
Bay Ward Councillor Theresa Kavanagh, MPP Chandra Pasma, and MP Anita Vandenbeld all dropped by.
A big thank you to Morris Home Team, Bridgehead, and Tim Hortons for sponsoring the event. And a special BRAVO to everyone who came out to play!

See you next year
