Support a Pollinator Garden in Woodroffe Park? Please Tell Us!

The Carlingwood Community Association has applied to the city to create a pollinator garden in Woodroffe Park. This falls under the city’s Community-led greening initiatives and gardening program. A garden in the park would provide an opportunity for local gardeners, and would-be gardeners, to exercise their green thumbs and meet neighbours who share their interest. There would be plenty of opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Visitors to the garden will step into a more natural setting and see a variety of native plants that support the birds, butterflies, and bees who pollinate the plants in our local gardens.

If our submission to the city is accepted, the next step will be to send a detailed proposal. Among other things, this detailed proposal needs to show community support for the garden. That’s where you come in!

You can attach a letter to the city supporting our garden proposal, which we will attach to our second submission, or just tell us we can include your name on a list of community members who support the project. Be sure to include your name and street address. Our future pollinator garden and the team that is hoping to create it thank you.
